As Gandalf the White said: Death is just another path, one that we all must take. In Slavic beliefs, however, the deceased not always got to see on this new path the far green country shrouded in a silver glow, mentioned later by the wizard. For the Slavs, everything depended on the type of death and who one was in life. Girls who ended their lives by drowning had a rather twisted and wet path ahead of them, which usually meant them making life difficult for ordinary mortals. Such was the bitter-sweet fate of Rusalkas.
